Rejected by the World, Not by Jesus | One-Minute Homily

by | May 7, 2023 | One-Minute Homily, Videos

Have you ever felt rejected by the world? Jesus does not reject you. Alex Hale, SJ, reflects on Jesus’ message to not let our hearts be troubled. Based on the readings for Sunday, May 7, 2023.

You have faith in God. Have faith in Christ also.

Hi, I’m Alex Hale and this is my One-Minute Reflection.

Most of us have been rejected by the world in some form and for any number of reasons. The world is constantly trying to tell us that we aren’t good enough. We aren’t smart enough, athletic enough, pretty enough, wealthy enough. That one mistake we made that one time is unforgivable.

There are so many things that the world looks for as reasons to condemn us to shame. Jesus won’t do this though. He is going to take all of you along with what the world rejects in you and make you the cornerstone. What the world rejects, God loves. Do not join the world in rejecting the parts of yourself you are ashamed of. Trust that even now, Jesus is preparing a place for you.
