José entered the Jesuits in 2019. Prior to joining the Society of Jesus, he studied Psychology at UC Irvine and worked as a caseworker for Catholic Charities. As part of his formation, he studied Philosophy and Spiritual Direction at Fordham University. He currently serves as a Campus Minister at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, CA.
