Every December 25th reminds us of a crucial eternal truth: God is always with us. No matter the circumstances we might find ourselves in, the humble nativity reminds us that Jesus is always there. Based on the readings for the Nativity of the Lord.
‘God is with us’— in the joy and in the mess.”
Hi, I’m José Oros, and this is my One-Minute reflection.
Christmas is a season of love and joy— We often picture winter wonderlands, perfect family dinners, and carefully wrapped gifts. But the first Christmas was anything but polished.
The Son of God born in poverty, laid in a manger, surrounded by raw discomfort.
Many people know what kind of Christmas that feels like.
A hospital worker on a late shift Christmas Eve.
A college student in a quiet dorm, unable to afford a flight home.
A service member deployed far from loved ones.
Yet, that is the heart of Christmas: in his infinite wisdom and compassion, God sent His son into our world. Not just once, but continually, into our lives.
This Christmas, let us remember: Jesus is with us—in the joy and in the struggle, in the mess and in the holy.
And from all of us here from the Jesuit Post, we want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
