Everything we have and everything we are, are gifts to receive, to tend, and to give away. Yet like the Parable of the Tenants in the Vineyard, we so often take what God gave us as a gift and slowly start believing we have to possess it, control it, protect it at all costs. What once was a gift becomes a burden. Bro. Bobby Nichols, SJ reflects on stewardship and ownership, offering Saint Francis of Assisi, whose feast the church celebrates today, as a model of a man who gave everything away and received untold richness in return.
🙏 God of every gift, help us remember that the talents we possess are a gift from you, and the way we use our talents are our gifts back to you. Grant us the grace to share all that we have and all that we are.
