Hi, I’m Conan Rainwater, and this is my One-Minute Reflection.
Today marks the last week of the 2024 Liturgical Year. Just like a teacher may have a review class before the end of the semester, today’s feast summarizes what we have celebrated liturgically. The name of today’s feast is called the Solemnity of the Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.
We call Jesus king, but if he’s a king, what is his throne? The kings of Israel, such as King Solomon and King David, sat on a throne. Yet Jesus is a king unlike any other. He does not sit on a throne. The throne of Jesus Christ is the cross upon which he gave his life for the world.
What’s our test of love? Remaining close to Jesus in the poor and suffering people of the world. We must pass this test, for there are no makeups or retakes.
