And Then There Was One

TJP's Perry Petrich for the Ignatian News Network

TJP’s Perry Petrich sounds off the about the only two Jesuit teams to make the Sweet Sixteen (of the original eight invited to the big dance).  Unfortunately for Marquette fans, Perry’s predictions about the Golden Eagles didn’t pan out last night.

As a proud alumnus of XU, watching the Musketeers beat Notre Dame and Lehigh wasn’t quite as painful for me, but I’d be lying if I told you it was beautiful basketball.  Apparently the Musketeers like to keep our heart rates up.  I’m sincerely hoping that Grantland’s predictions for XU’s chances of an upset turn out to be correct.

In his video Perry explains some of the commonalities shared by Jesuit missionaries Jacques Marquette and St. Francis Xavier.  Let’s just hope that Musketeers and Golden Eagles end the sharing there.  All of us at TJP want to see at least one Jesuit school in the Elite Eight. After all, how else will we get to write another post about March Madness?
