All who are thirsty, come to the waters, says the Lord.
Though you have no money, come and drink with joy.
– Entrance Antiphon for Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Lent (cf. Isaiah 55:1)
God offers to give me what I need, and this is true whether or not I feel like I deserve it or have earned it. Though I may not suffer physical thirst, what about spiritually? Do I receive God’s offer with joy, or do I resist? How am I called to give freely to others, like God does?
In the spirit of Lenten almsgiving, perhaps I can consider giving to help those who are thirsty.
