Philip Nahlik, SJ shows us how he drew his way into friendship with Jesus
All posts by Mario Verde, SJ
Mario has spent the better part of his life proving the age-old adage: One can take the man out of Boston but not the Boston out of the man. Leaving his beloved Massachusetts after high school, he graduated from Syracuse University, studying philosophy and psychology. Before entering the Jesuits in 2019, he pulled double duty as a substitute teacher by day and bartender by night, living in Boston, Philadelphia, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was in Santa Fe, where he obtained a Master's degree in liberal arts from St. John's College, that he first started to take his faith seriously. He is known to enjoy following New England and Syracuse football, fronting a cover rock band or two, and taking walks on the beach. He is currently working towards a Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago.
