Confidence in Jesus I 5th Sunday of Easter

by | May 3, 2026 | One-Minute Homily

Jesus has prepared a place for us. Simon Zachary, SJ recalls that Jesus constantly comforts us. Based on the readings for the 5th Sunday of Easter.

Breaking news: life can be challenging sometimes! Ok, you knew that, but what if the story ends differently?

Hi, I’m Fr. Simon Zachary, and this is my One Minute Homily.

We all encounter trials and tribulations, great or small, weighty or light, but what lies past those gloomy clouds? On this 5th Sunday of Easter, Jesus shares that he’s preparing a place for us. We hear words of great comfort from our God. “Do not let your hearts be troubled”. Yes, we have the promise of eternal life. But in the here and now, we also have a close friend, a confidant, in Jesus.

Jesus brings us a unique hope. Let’s let our faith bring us confidence. Let’s mirror Jesus’s welcome by preparing a place in our hearts for God, and above all, for Jesus’s light to break through the darkness.
