Abundant life is universally desired, but how do we go about finding it? Jon Jue-Wong, SJ reflects on how viewing our world through a Christ-centered lens may point us to places where abundant life is already present. Based on the readings for the 4th Sunday of Easter.
Christ is the key which unlocks abundance in our lives.
Hi, I’m Jon Jue-Wong and this is my One-Minute reflection.
“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly” is my favorite Gospel verse.
With bracing directness, Jesus gives us his personal mission statement, the reason he has been sent to us. And though we live in an imperfect and broken world, when Christ is the lens through which we view the world, it is possible to notice abundance in so many places.
When we go before God and tell him we’re sorry, and in return receive pardon and peace for our worst mistakes. Whenever someone takes a risk to stand against injustice. When we tell someone “I love you” for the first time… and for the hundredth time.
May we always be open to receiving this abundant life, and recognize the gentle voice of the One offering it to us.
