Sam, a Bostonian by choice since undergrad days, is back in Boston for his theology studies. A software engineer before he was a Jesuit, he keeps TJP's site up and running, and tries to find time to write for it as well. He spent his two years of regency in Baltimore, teaching philosophy at Loyola University Maryland, where he insisted that students have things called "reasons" for their answers. He misses the teaching, but not the grading.
“Our culture is still capable of anticipation in common — but we’re not so good at celebration.” Sam Sawyer keeps Christmas going with a music recommendation.
