Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”
—  Luke 1:38, from today’s Gospel

In the midst of Lent, nine months before Christmas (off by one day this year to adjust for the 25th being a Sunday), we’re reminded that God entered the world through a human yes, through Mary’s free cooperation with the work of God.

How am I called to cooperate with God coming into the world?

Perhaps spend some time with this poem about the Annunciation, or this painting of it.
