Joe grew up in St. Louis and is a "double Billiken," a graduate of both St. Louis University High School and Saint Louis University. In both places, Joe encountered Jesuits inspiring enough to want to follow, yet flawed enough to think he could find his place. Joe entered the Jesuits in 2021. He studied Hispanic literature at Loyola University Chicago and is currently teaching at Arrupe Jesuit High School in Denver. He enjoys running as much as his musculoskeletal system will allow, fueling his morning prayer with light roast black coffee, telling shaggy dog stories, listening to live acoustic guitar, and going down rabbit-holes on Wikipedia (even and especially in the age of AI).
