Before entering the Society in 2003, he earned his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Evolutionary Biology, focusing on parasites and host behavior. He enjoys swimming, skiing, hiking, watching Doctor Who, listening to novelty songs, eating gelato, and hugging trees.
