Football fever is running high here at TJP. Even though the Vatican has said that the game’s on well after normal papal bedtimes — and it’s a well known fact the that Benedict isn’t the world’s biggest sports fan — we’re holding out hope for a photo of the boys in white wearing their respective country’s football scarves.
No matter what happens in Vatican City or even Brazil, we can still help bring a little perspective to the games by joining the #PAUSEforPeace movement. Send us tweets and photos from your World Cup parties as we all pause and pray for peace around the world. We’ll be posting and retweeting photos from TJP readers, writers and Jesuits around the world throughout the game. In the meantime, you can brush up on your Papal World Cup trivia. There’s no better way to impress your friends… well maybe not, but you get the point.
