#tbt – Keepin’ Cool

by | Jul 18, 2013 | Uncategorized

Great googly-moogly, it’s hot out there! While the canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II is cause for celebration, let’s be honest here: someone needs to open up a window as well as the cause for the canonization of Willis Carrier. Where would modern society be without air conditioning? Certainly not Vegas or Phoenix, that’s for sure.

Summer heat can be dangerous, especially for children, the elderly, and pets. Throwback Thursday has some ideas on how to beat the heat and have a good time with people in your community.

Please use only cooling devices approved by the local civic authorities. Many cities provide cooling shelters and other services to serve those most at-risk. Firefighters need those hydrants! (N.B. The volume is low on this video, so crank it up!)

After a long day of work and sweltering summer traffic jams, be sure to treat yourself to some summertime fun with a Crocodile Mile…

and some Super Soakers.

Cool, tasty foods will power you through the toughest heat waves. As a youngster, I did not pick up how trippy these Popsicle Zone commercials actually were.

So don’t be cocky this summer, thinking that you can beat the heat. Be like this happy couple – make a call and get you and your loved ones cooled off now!
